Bedford Police Arrest Suspects Involved In Shoplifting, Receiving Stolen Property

Police Investigating Series of Break-Ins 

BEDFORD — Chief Robert Bongiorno reports that the Bedford Police Department arrested two men over the weekend who were allegedly involved in shoplifting and receiving stolen property.

Just before 7 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 26, an employee from Marshalls on The Great Road reported that someone had shoplifted and then fled the store.

Two men were seen in a surveillance video leaving the store and getting into a jeep. Police determined that the jeep had been reported stolen out of Boston six days earlier.

They located a suspect, later identified as RAYMOND CASTILLO, 35, OF CAMBRIDGE, at the Bedford Motel, 30 North Road. He was arrested and charged with Shoplifting.

On Sunday, Dec. 27, just before 7:30 p.m., Bedford police located KEITH HOSEA, 35, OF QUINCY. Through an investigation, they were able to tie him to the jeep seen at Marshalls. HOSEA was charged with Receiving A Stolen Motor Vehicle.

CASTILLO and HOSEA were held at the Bedford Police Department pending their arraignment at Concord District Court today.

“This is an active and open investigation,” Chief Bongiorno said. “I would like to commend all Bedford police officers involved in this incident for a job well done.”

Police are also investigating multiple break-ins around the area of North Road that are believed to have occurred over the weekend.

On Saturday, Dec. 26 at 10:55 a.m., police received a report of a breaking and entering at an office building at 41 North Road. The area was vandalized and items from multiple offices were taken.

That same day, at 10 p.m., police received a 911 call from a residence on North Road. The caller reported someone was attempting to break into the home and steal the family car. The suspect fled into the woods behind the home and a search was initiated.

Police from Billerica, Lexington, Concord and the State Police, including their K-9 units and Air Wing, assisted the Bedford Police Department, but could not locate the suspect.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
