HAMPTON — Hampton Superintendent, Lois Costa, is proud to announce that District Behavior Consultant, Susan Antico, has been named the 2026 Southeast Regional Champion for Children.

The New Hampshire School Administrators Association (NHSAA) awards this honor to New Hampshire residents who have shown outstanding public service in the interest of children. Antico was selected for her continued commitment to supporting students in Hampton and the surrounding areas.

As the Southeast regional champion, Antico will advance to the statewide Champion for Children Award. Regional and state honorees will be celebrated on May 20 at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH.

Antico has displayed her commitment to supporting students, educators, and families throughout her 40-year career as a mental health counselor. Through her leadership and volunteer efforts, she has implemented initiatives and strengthened programs centered around inclusion, growth, and student well-being.

As the district’s behavior consultant, Ms. Antico orchestrates vital safety systems, including multi-tiered systems of support and mental health initiatives. Antico was named New Hampshire’s school counselor of the year in 2021. Continuing to inspire and share her ideas, she will co-host the 2026 H.E.R. Conference workshops in March alongside Superintendent Costa.

“Ms. Antico consistently goes above and beyond to ensure students are safe and feel supported both inside and outside of Hampton’s walls,” said Superintendent Costa. “We are incredibly proud to see her recognized and believe she truly embodies the values of Hampton School District.”

In addition to her work with the district, Antico serves as a Hampton Rotarian and supports grieving children through Friends of Aine, services for children and families that have lost a loved one.

A committee of judges will select the statewide Champion for Children by March 13.

Regardless of the outcome, the district celebrates Antico’s leadership and continued advocacy for children across the region.
