Georgetown High School Hosts Eighth Grade Student and Family Open House Jan. 29

GEORGETOWN —  Georgetown High School (GHS) is excited to welcome eighth graders, parents, and caregivers to its Open House on Jan. 29 in the GHS Auditorium.

The event will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and offers families a chance to experience everything that makes GHS a great place to grow, learn and thrive. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served by GMHS’ coffee cart interns.

Designed to showcase the school’s strong academics and vibrant student life, the Open House invites prospective students to explore the many opportunities available at GHS.

The evening will begin with a 30-minute presentation from school administrators, followed by classroom visits, hands-on activities and opportunities to meet teachers, staff and students.

At the heart of Georgetown High School is the Royal Way, a demonstration of Georgetown Public Schools’ commitment to creating a learning environment where every student can succeed both academically and socially.

The Royal Way reflects the values lived out daily by students and staff through respect, responsibility, and pride, fostering a supportive community where students feel encouraged to challenge themselves and reach their full potential.

Guests will have the chance to explore the Royal Way, and all the schools’ clubs, athletics and extracurricular programs in the library during the event.

From championship athletics, highlighted by the Georgetown Boys Basketball Team’s state title win in March 2025, to creative and cultural opportunities, such as Georgetown Middle High School’s drama program, which have won the preliminary round of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild drama festival the last five consecutive years, there is truly something for everyone.

No registration is required to attend the event. Guests are welcome to arrive at any time during the Open House and will have full access to all programs and activities, regardless of their arrival time.

GHS encourages interested eighth-grade students and their families to attend the Student and Family Open House to explore the school’s programs and ask questions about registration.
