*UPDATE* Canton Police Arrest Juvenile in Connection with Shooting 

CANTON — Interim Police Chief Joseph Perkins reports that the Canton Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male in connection with a shooting that occurred Monday night. 

16-YEAR-OLD JUVENILE MALE was arrested and charged with attempted murder. 

On Monday, Dec. 15, Canton Police and Fire responded to a shooting at the Lamplighter Village apartment complex that left a woman in her 20s in serious condition. 

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, at about 6 a.m. Canton Police and Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT executed a search warrant at a Canton residence, resulting in the arrest of the juvenile. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident. 

The victim is still being treated at a Boston hospital with serious injuries. 

No further information is available at this time. 

“I am pleased to report that thanks to the diligent police work of the Canton Police Department and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council, we have made an arrest within 12 hours of the initial incident,” said Chief Perkins. “We thank the community for their patience and compliance with sheltering in place while our investigation was ongoing.”
