TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested a local man on charges of drug possession and distribution.
DAVID MACKINNON, AGE 57, of TEWKSBURY, was arrested and charged with:
- Distribution of a Class B Drug
- Possession with Intent to Distribute of a Class B Drug
On Friday, Aug. 29, the Tewksbury Police Department Narcotics Unit was notified of suspected drug activity in the area of Ferncroft Road.
Following a month-long investigation, Tewksbury Police, with assistance from the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, determined that MACKINNON had been selling narcotics out of his residence on Ferncroft Road.
On Monday, Sept. 22, officers observed what appeared to be a drug transaction between MACKINNON and another person.
MACKINNON was arrested without incident.
The second person involved, a 60-YEAR-OLD MALE from Nashua, N.H., will be summonsed on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
Police received a search warrant for the residence and recovered 2 grams of cocaine, items believed to be materials used to package drugs, and cash.
MACKINNON was arraigned at Lowell District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 24, and will be held without bail.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
