Ludlow Fire Department Responds to and Extinguishes Kitchen Fire

LUDLOW — Chief Ryan Pease reports that the Ludlow Fire Department responded to and extinguished a kitchen fire.

LUDLOW — Chief Ryan Pease reports that the Ludlow Fire Department responded to and extinguished a kitchen fire.

On Monday, Feb. 3, at approximately 10:47 a.m., Ludlow Central Dispatch received a report of a kitchen fire at a home on Lower Whitney Street. 

Upon arrival, crews observed light smoke showing from the open door of the home. Crews were able to contain the fire in the kitchen area and quickly extinguish the flames. 

There were no injuries. Four people have been displaced and are being assisted by family.

Mutual aid was provided by Belchertown Fire. Ludlow Police and Ludlow Central Dispatch assisted. 

Off-duty Ludlow firefighters provided station coverage.

The fire’s cause was investigated by Ludlow Fire and was determined to be unattended cooking.
