Town of East Bridgewater Encourages Residents to Complete Economic Development Survey

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Town Administrator Charles Seelig and the Town of East Bridgewater encourage all businesses and consumers in East Bridgewater to complete a survey as part of a new initiative called the Old Colony Economic Development Business Assistance Project.

East Bridgewater has partnered with the Old Colony Planning Council (OCPC) on an important initiative aimed at fostering economic development within the community by investing in business development. This project will provide assistance services to local businesses to drive growth and strengthen the local economy.

State Sen. Michael Brady, State Rep. Alyson M. Sullivan-Almeida and State. Rep. Gerard Cassidy secured an earmark through the Economic Development Bill that enabled the Town of East Bridgewater to contract with OCPC, which is collaborating with the East Bridgewater Business Association.

As part of the initiative, the Town and the EBBA are conducting an anonymous survey that will help the Town better understand the needs, priorities and challenges of local East Bridgewater businesses and consumers.

The Town plans to use the results of the surveys to help align economic development strategies with the needs of businesses and consumers, particularly the needs outlined in the Town’s new Master Plan. Responses will guide the strategies and actions in creating a more supportive and prosperous business environment throughout the Town.

The business survey includes questions about the Town government’s role in business, economic development goals and marketing. The consumer survey includes questions about overall experience with local businesses and offers a chance to write suggestions.

“These new tools and the insights gathered from this project will help East Bridgewater align its economic development strategies with the community’s needs, guiding actions that support a more prosperous business environment throughout the Town,” said Town Administrator Seelig.
