Easton Fire Department to Host Open House Sept. 28

EASTON — Chief Justin Alexander and the Easton Fire Department are pleased to invite community members to this year’s Open House, to be held ahead of the 2024 National Fire Prevention Week.

EASTON — Chief Justin Alexander and the Easton Fire Department are pleased to invite community members to this year’s Open House, to be held ahead of the 2024 National Fire Prevention Week.

“Our Open House is always an amazing, fun-filled day for children and their families, with activities and demonstrations,” Chief Alexander said. “We are always thrilled to welcome the public to the station for this day and also remind everyone about the importance of fire safety ahead of National Fire Prevention Week. Bring the family and come by for an hour or stay for the entire event!”

Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Easton Fire Station 1, 48 Lothrop St.

WHAT:

In celebration and recognition of Fire Prevention Week, the Easton Fire Department is hosting an open house featuring family activities and demonstrations. The event is open to all and free to attend.

Fire Prevention Week, recognized Oct. 6-12 this year, is organized by the National Fire Protection Association with the goal of educating the public about simple but important ways they can keep themselves and those they live with safe. This year’s campaign is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™”

During the Open House, guests will be able to enjoy live demonstrations and interactive activities. They include: 

  • Touch-a-truck
  • Spray house
  • Ladder climb demonstration
  • Live fire demonstration
  • Live Jaws of Life extraction demonstration
  • Stay low and go obstacle course
  • Face painting
  • Pumpkin painting/decorating
  • Photo booth 
  • Dunk the Deputy Chiefs
  • CPR demonstrations
  • Giveaways

Popcorn, pizza, ice cream and hot coffee will be available for guests at no cost throughout the event.
