ACTON — Chief Anita Arnum reports that the Acton Fire Department responded to a fire at a local auto body shop Monday afternoon.

On Monday, April 6, at approximately 4:05 p.m., Acton Fire was dispatched to 15 Spruce St. for reports of smoke showing from a commercial building.

Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke coming from the roof and the spray booth of the building. Acton Dispatch was instrumental in identifying address, as several calls were received for different buildings.

There were no reported injuries.

Mutual aid was provided by Boxborough, Maynard, Westford, Littleton, and Sudbury Fire Departments. Acton Police assisted with traffic.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Acton Fire and District 14 Fire Investigators.

“I would like to thank our firefighters and mutual aid partners for their work in quickly knocking down the fire,” said Chief Arnum. “Due to their diligent work, we were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building. Incidents like this reflect the high level of training, teamwork, and professionalism that define this department and our public safety partners.”
