Bedford Police Department Recovers Firearm in Bedford Plaza Hotel

Interim Police Chief Kenneth Fong reports that the Bedford Police Department responded to The Great Road on Tuesday morning following a 911 call.

At about 4:49 a.m., the Bedford Emergency Communications Center received a disconnected 911 call from a hotel at 340 The Great Road.

First-responding officers discovered a woman with a severe leg injury. She was transported for treatment by ambulance to an area hospital, where it was determined her injuries were the result of a gunshot wound. Bedford Police also located a firearm inside the hotel room.

As a result of an investigation, Bedford Police arrested JOSEPH CLARK, AGE 30, of MARLBOROUGH, at the scene and charged him with:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm

The facts and circumstances surrounding the discharge of the firearm are under investigation by the Bedford Police Department. This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no general threat to the public.

CLARK was arraigned in Concord District Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Bedford Police Detectives at 781-275-1212.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
