Methuen Police Charge Woman with Animal Cruelty

METHUEN — Chief Scott McNamara reports that the Methuen Police Department has charged a local woman with animal cruelty.

On Jan. 2, Methuen Police were notified by the Brentwood, N.H., Police Department of a video circulating online depicting apparent animal cruelty in Methuen.

A preliminary investigation identified the woman as MADDISON EASTMAN, 26, ofMETHUEN, who owns a dog training and kennel facility in Brentwood, N.H.

Methuen Police obtained an arrest warrant for EASTMAN on two counts of animal cruelty.

EASTMAN turned herself in at Lawrence District Court on Jan. 7 and was arraigned on Jan. 9.

Methuen Police will have no further comment at this time and refer all media inquiries to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
