TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested a man on drug trafficking charges Wednesday afternoon as the result of a months-long investigation.
ABBEY KASUJJA, AGE 31, of TEWKSBURY, was arrested and charged with:
- Obstruction of Justice
- Trafficking in 200 Grams or More of Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in 100 Grams of More of Cocaine
- Trafficking in 36 Grams or More of Cocaine
As a result of a months-long investigation conducted by the Tewksbury Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, in collaboration with the Billerica Police Department, Burlington Police Department, the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Cross Borders Initiative Task Force (CBI-T4), police obtained an arrest warrant charging KASUJJA with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and three counts of Distribution of a Class B Substance.
Police also obtained a search warrant for KASUJJA’s residence at 485 Chandler St., in Tewksbury.
On Wednesday, Dec. 17, at about 1:30 p.m., police from multiple agencies coordinated to serve that search warrant and to take KASUJJA into custody on the arrest warrant.
During service of the search warrant, police recovered 445.6 grams of methamphetamine, 121.8 grams of cocaine and 82.3 grams of crack cocaine, as well as several phones, laptops, hard drives and a large quantity of cash.
KASUJJA was arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court, where he was ordered to be held on $10,000 cash bail.
“I commend the strong work of Tewksbury Police and investigative officers in handling this investigation,” said Chief Columbus. “Thanks to their efforts, a large quantity of drugs are off of the streets. This response is a sound demonstration of collaboration between agencies and our commitment to keeping our community safe from dangerous drugs.”
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
