Tewksbury Police Department Investigating Motorcycle Crash

TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department responded Friday evening to a single-vehicle crash in a residential neighborhood that left a motorcyclist in critical condition.

On Friday, Nov. 8, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Tewksbury Police responded to the intersection of Brook Street and Janet Avenue for a report of a motorcycle crash.

Officers arrived to discover a man lying unconscious on the ground next to a motorcycle in the woods off the roadway. The man, a 56-year-old Dracut resident, suffered serious injuries, including an apparent head injury.

Tewksbury Firefighters then transported the injured motorcyclist by ambulance to the Elks Lodge property at 777 South St., using the site as a landing zone for a MedFlight helicopter.

MedFlight then transported the injured motorcyclist to Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

The motorcyclist remained in critical condition at Lahey Clinic on Saturday afternoon.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing by the Tewksbury Police, together with the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
