MIDDLEBOROUGH — Police Chief Robert Ferreira and Fire Chief Owen Thompson report that the Middleborough Police and Fire Departments responded to a serious crash on Precinct Street on Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday, Oct. 9, at about 4:08 p.m., Middleborough Police and Fire responded to a 911 call reporting a crash in the area of Precinct Street and Juno Path.
When they arrived, first responders found a single vehicle that had rolled over. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was ejected.
The driver, a 26-year-old Middleborough man, suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
The Middleborough Fire Department treated the victim at the scene, then transported him by ambulance to a parking lot landing zone on Plympton Street. He was then flown by medical helicopter to an area trauma center.
The crash remains under investigation by the Middleborough Police Department, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation also assisted at the scene.
