Attleboro Fire Department Responds to Fall at Auto Shop Resulting in Serious Injury

ATTLEBORO — Chief Scott T. Lachance reports that the Attleboro Fire Department responded after a man was seriously injured when he fell through a skylight at a local auto repair shop on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, Sept. 6, at approximately 11:15 a.m., firefighters responded to Pleasant Street Auto, at 676 Pleasant St., for a report of a fall.

Firefighters found a man in his 40s inside the building after he fell about 20 feet through a skylight into the maintenance bay while cleaning gutters.

The man suffered serious head and arm injuries. He was treated at the scene and transported by an Attleboro Fire Department ambulance crew to Rhode Island Hospital with assistance from three Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and paramedics. His condition is not immediately known.

The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the incident and has notified the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
