Town of Groton Police Department Charges Resident in Connection with July Disturbance

The Town of Groton Police Department reports that, following a comprehensive investigation by state and municipal officials, a resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a July disturbance at his home.

GROTON — The Town of Groton Police Department reports that, following a comprehensive investigation by state and municipal officials, a resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a July disturbance at his home.

BRYAN FAHEY, AGE 53, of GROTON, was arrested Friday and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Following a July 11 incident at FAHEY’S home, the Town of Groton Police Department worked in collaboration with the Office of the State’s Attorney New London Judicial District to review the matter and provide all records and materials related to the incident.

The matter has since been transferred to the Office of the State’s Attorney Judicial District of Windham, and as a result of the investigation, FAHEY was arrested on the strength of a warrant on Friday, Aug. 29.

On Friday, July 11, at about 4:52 p.m., the Town of Groton Police Department responded to a disturbance at FAHEY‘s residence.

The investigation revealed that during the confrontation between FAHEY and two men who were filming on his property, FAHEY allegedly spat in the face of one of the men.

FAHEY, who at the time was an off-duty, active law enforcement officer from another jurisdiction, has since retired from that agency.

FAHEY turned himself in on Friday, Aug. 29.

He was processed at the Town of Groton Police Department and released on a court-set promise to appear for arraignment at Danielson Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Further inquiries should be directed to Superior Court GA #11 in Danielson.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
