Georgetown Fire Department Welcomes New Hires

GEORGETOWN — Chief Matt McKay is pleased to share that the Georgetown Fire Department has welcomed three new hires.

Andrew Gibson

Firefighter/EMT Gibson joined the Department in September 2023 as a call/per-diem Firefighter/EMT.  Gibson has since received his paramedic certification.

Jordan Hebert

Firefighter/EMT Hebert joined the department in March as a call/per-diem Firefighter/EMT. He comes to Georgetown from the Newbury Fire Department, but also has fire service experience in Texas. Hebert is currently close to completing his paramedic certification.

While Georgetown does not currently run a paramedic service and only services at the Basic Life Support level, the EMS knowledge that both Gibson and Hebert bring will continue to enhance Georgetown Fire’s services.

Andrew Dwinell

Firefighter/EMT Dwinell is brand new to the Georgetown Fire Department. He currently works with the Topsfield Fire Department as a call/per-diem Firefighter/EMT. Firefighter/EMT Dwinell also worked for the Topsfield Highway Department, where he gained experience with heavy equipment.

These new full-time positions will help the Department fill long-term schedule gaps and allow it to have round-the-clock staff, which coincides with the standard staffing model of three full-time firefighters per shift.

With the addition of the new hires, Georgetown Fire’s full-time staff now includes eight firefighters and the Chief.
