Town of Newbury Implements Heavy Commercial Vehicle Exclusion on Larkin Road

NEWBURY — The Town of Newbury announces that a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Exclusion has been put into effect on Larkin Road. 

On June 17, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (DOT) approved a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Exclusion for Larkin Road. The exclusion went into effect on June 22, when the Town received and posted its DOT-approved signage. 

The exclusion bans travel from heavy commercial vehicles weighing more than 2 ½ tons on Larkin Road 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Alternate route(s) include: Central Street, Main Street, North Street (Town of Georgetown), Thurlow Street (Town of Georgetown), Jewett Street (Town of Georgetown), Jackman Street (Town of Georgetown); or Central Street, School Street, Elm Street, Jackman Street (Town of Georgetown).

The exclusion does not apply to heavy commercial vehicles that are making local deliveries.
