Groveland Water and Sewer Department to Shut Down Well #1 for Repairs; Asks Residents to be Mindful of Water Usage

GROVELAND — The Groveland Water and Sewer Department seeks to inform residents that it will be shutting down Well #1 for necessary repairs next week.

Beginning Monday, July 21, the Department will shut down Well #1 so that it can be repaired.

As of now, the Department has not issued any water bans, but asks that the community be mindful of water usage for the duration of the week.

With one well out of service, the Department must refrain from pumping the other two wells 24 hours a day to avoid straining equipment and limiting the ability to pump from the wells.

If the Department deems it necessary due to well conditions, it will enforce a mandatory outdoor water ban. However, with the community’s collaboration in conserving water use, a ban may not be necessary.

“While this repair is necessary and unavoidable, we can work together to avoid having to issue a water ban. Please do your best to be mindful of your water use and conserve water wherever you can. We thank you for your cooperation,” said Superintendent Colin Stokes.

The Department will issue updates to the community through CodeRed notifications, which you can sign up for on the Department’s website, grovelandwaterandsewer.com
