GLOUCESTER, Mass. — The Battle of Bunker Hill 250 Committee announces that the media credential RSVP period is now open for media outlets to request access to the media staging area and parking passes on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, in Gloucester for the 250th Anniversary Reenactment of the Battle of Bunker Hill.
Over 1,000 reenactors from various historical reenactment groups will portray colonial and British troops who fought on June 17, 1775, in what is considered to be the first major battle of the Revolutionary War.
Though the Battle of Bunker Hill was fought in Charlestown, part of Boston, there is currently no location in Charlestown that can accommodate a reenactment of this scale. The reenactment will be held at Stage Fort Park, located at 24 Hough Ave., in Gloucester. There are also significant Bunker Hill 250 commemorative events occurring in Charlestown, all connected through Massachusetts 250 and supported by Revolution 250.
In addition to the battle reenactment, the reenactors in Gloucester will be creating an authentic replica encampment on the battlefield and camping out overnight on Friday and Saturday with wedge tents and campfires.
The weekend events will also include living history interpretations of daily colonial life and a vendor fair with booths selling 18th-century replica items and modern items, including food trucks. For more information, please visit: https://www.battleofbunkerhill250.com/schedule-1.
This will be a credentialed media event, and there will be a designated media area. *NOTE: June 21 and June 22 feature a repeat of the same schedule of events, so please indicate which day you would prefer to attend for coverage. The Sunday reenactment event will end earlier in the day.
To request a credential and/or parking pass, please submit this form: https://forms.gle/x4WCptUfzAKVWzFeA. Media members must use an official work email address from their station or outlet when submitting this form.
The number of credentials and parking passes is limited.
All media outlets planning to attend must RSVP, and all personnel must have their own media credential or they will be denied entry to the media area.
One individual from a media organization can submit a request for multiple credentials and parking passes for the same organization.
Dates/times for in-person credential pickup will be announced at a later date.
There will be an opportunity for on-site registration, but we ask that all media outlets that are planning to attend please RSVP in advance to ensure the timely issuance of credentials on-site. Access to the media sites and staging areas is limited.
