
MAYNARD — Chief Angela Lawless would like to share that Maynard Firefighter/EMT Eric Frechette successfully completed and graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighter Academy (MFA) on Monday, Nov. 18.
Firefighter/EMT Frechette was one of 31 graduates from 18 departments in the Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program Class #325.
Firefighter/EMT Frechette has been with the Maynard Fire Department since May 2024.
During the 50-day training program, participants receive classroom training in all basic firefighter skills. They practice first under non-fire conditions and then during controlled fire conditions. The graduates are now certified at the level of Firefighter I and II and in hazardous material operation.
The other 30 graduates of Class #325 represent the fire departments of Amesbury, Ashland, Burlington, Concord, Lynn, Medford, Melrose, Nantucket, Needham, Newton, Northbridge, Reading, Somerville, Stow, Wakefield, Wellesley and Westborough.
“Eric has been a valuable member of our team, continuously learning and growing in his role here,” said Chief Lawless. “We want to congratulate Eric on his graduation and wish him luck in this next chapter of his firefighting career here in Maynard.”
