RAYNHAM — Chief Bryan LaCivita reports that the Raynham Fire Department extinguished a house fire on White Street this morning.
On Tuesday, Sept. 10, shortly before 10 a.m., the Raynham Fire Department received a call for a report of a house fire located at 239 White St.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the single-family home. The owner of the home, who had evacuated prior to firefighters’ arrival, reported that the fire started in the kitchen and that his dog was still inside the residence.
Crews immediately brought a hose to the side door of the house, where they were met with excessive heat and dense smoke. Firefighters were able to enter the home to quickly find and extinguish the bulk of the fire.
Raynham Fire Lt. Brad Carr and Firefighter Tyler Carey located the family’s dog and brought it to safety.
The fire was quickly extinguished after crews arrived on scene. Firefighters remained on scene for a period of time to conduct overhaul and check for hot spots.
No one was injured as a result of the fire.
Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Bridgewater and Easton Fire Departments. Brewster Ambulance and the Raynham Police Department also responded to the scene. Taunton Fire provided station coverage during the incident.
The residents will be displaced for a significant amount of time as a result of the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Fire crews cleared the scene at approximately 1 p.m.
“Members of the Raynham Fire Department did a great job to make quick work of the fire,” said Chief LaCivita. “Crews were able to quickly gain control of the fire to prevent it from spreading further and without any injuries to people or animals. We thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Raynham Fire Department.
