Burlington Fire Department Welcomes Two New Firefighters

BURLINGTON – Chief Andrew Connerty is pleased to announce that the Burlington Fire Department has welcomed two new firefighters upon their graduation from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. 

Firefighter/Paramedics Jarred Sevene and Connor Haded were two of 33 graduates from 23 departments in the Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program Class #322, which graduated on Friday, July 26.

Sevene is a Billerica resident. He earned his Paramedic Certification in September 2023 and has since been working at a private ambulance company as a paramedic

Haded is a Burlington resident. He earned his Paramedic Certification in November 2023 and has since been working at a private ambulance company as a paramedic.

During the 50-day training program, participants receive classroom training in all basic firefighter skills. They practice first under non-fire conditions and then during controlled fire conditions. The graduates are now certified at the level of Firefighter I and II and in hazardous material operation.

The other 32 graduates of Class #322 represent the fire departments of Amesbury, Andover, Bedford, Billerica, Charlton, Devens, Falmouth, Foxborough, Groton, Haverhill, Hingham, Leominster, Lexington, Littleton, Marlborough, Maynard, Medway, Nantucket, North Andover, North Reading, Salem, and Westborough.
