Concord Fire Department Responds to Four-Alarm Fire

CONCORD — Chief Thomas Judge reports that the Concord Fire Department responded to a four-alarm fire in a large home on Tuesday afternoon.

CONCORD — Chief Thomas Judge reports that the Concord Fire Department responded to a four-alarm fire in a large home on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, June 18, at approximately 4:41 p.m., the Concord Fire Department was called to 17 Bartkus Farm Road for a report of a structure fire.

Companies arrived to find heavy fire showing from an approximately 9,700-square-foot home and immediately struck a second and third alarm. A fourth alarm was later struck to bring additional manpower to the scene.

No one was home at the time of the fire. A firefighter was transported to a local hospital with heat exhaustion.

Firefighters from Acton, Boxborough, Maynard, Lexington, Carlisle, Littleton, Sudbury, Lincoln, Weston, Wayland, Burlington, Bedford and the U.S. Air Force provided mutual aid at the scene. Firefighters from Weston and Stow covered Concord stations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Concord Fire Department, with assistance from the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit attached to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
