RANDOLPH — Chief Ronald Cassford reports that the Randolph Fire Department responded to a small fire in an apartment building on Monday morning.
On Monday, Feb. 19, at 2:45 a.m., Randolph firefighters were dispatched to a four-unit building on Pleasant Street for reports of smoke in the building. Crews located the source as a smoldering fire in a wall and window assembly on the third floor and worked quickly to contain the fire.
All residents had evacuated before the crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
Two units sustained water damage; residents have made other living arrangements. The other two units were determined to be habitable.
A preliminary investigation by Randolph Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was accidental.
Chief Cassford wishes to thank the Holbrook Fire Department for mutual aid at the scene, and the Braintree, Milton, and Stoughton Fire Departments for providing station coverage.
