Town of Hopkinton Welcomes 12 New Employees, Celebrates a Promotion in Multiple Departments Over Recent Months

Town Manager Norman Khumalo is pleased to introduce 13 employees who have begun in new roles across multiple departments in the Town of Hopkinton in recent months.

HOPKINTON — Town Manager Norman Khumalo is pleased to introduce 13 employees who have begun in new roles across multiple departments in the Town of Hopkinton in recent months.

“We are pleased to welcome each of these employees to their respective departments and roles,” Town Manager Khumalo said. “Each brings valuable experience to their new positions and are important members of our team at the Town of Hopkinton.”

Carly Moniz, Hopkinton Public Library Children’s Librarian

Moniz comes to the Hopkinton Public Library from the Wayland Public Library where she served as an Assistant Children’s Librarian. She developed and led programming including storytime for babies to age 5, teen crafts, children’s after-school activities and summer reading events, as well as participated in collection development for ages 0-18. She previously worked at the Cary Memorial Library in Lexington and the Whitman Public Library.

As Children’s Librarian, Moniz provides general library services for young library users and provides special library services such as story times, crafts, summer reading programs, and other programming to promote reading among youth.

Moniz holds a master’s degree in children’s literature and a Master of Library and Information Science. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in communication. She started with the town on Dec. 13.

Augusto DeOliveira, Custodial Maintenance Worker

DeOliveira has previous experience in retail store maintenance and repairs, as well as retail and food service management. 

In his role with the Town of Hopkinton, DeOliveira works with the Facilities Department on custodial, building and grounds maintenance, as well as the maintenance of machinery and equipment. He also performs building repairs as needed, helps with event setup, and ensures buildings are secured and all security procedures are followed. DeOliveira started with the town on Dec. 12. 

Maureen McKeon, Procurement and Grants Manager

McKeon came to the Town of Hopkinton from the City of Worcester, where she worked as the Assistant Director of Purchasing since July 2022. In that role, she managed expenditure approval, compiled bids for the city and oversaw various contracts.

She also previously worked as Executive Assistant to the City Council in the City of Framingham, and Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator and Board of Selectmen in the Town of Stow.

As Procurement and Grants Manager, McKeon works to achieve large-scale savings and revenue opportunities for the town, and provides procurement and grant writing services to town departments, boards and committees.

McKeon holds a bachelor’s degree in English. She started with the town on Nov. 20. 

Officer Brian Ziniti, Hopkinton Police Department

Officer Ziniti has previous law enforcement experience in hospital and college campus settings. He came to the Town of Hopkinton from the Northeastern University Police Department, where he served since July 2022. He previously served with the Wentworth Institute of Technology Police Department and the Tufts Medical Center Department of Police/Public Safety.

He served in the Army National Guard for eight years and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from The Citadel. Officer Ziniti started with the town on Nov. 6.

Rachel “Ray” Stephenson, Hopkinton Public Library Senior Library Assistant

Stephenson has worked as a Library Assistant in Circulation for the Town of Wellesley since January and previously worked as a substitute Library Assistant at the Hopkinton Public Library. As Senior Library Assistant, Stephenson supports the daily operations of the Hopkinton Public Library and provides customer service to patrons.

Stephenson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and an associate’s degree in visual fine arts. They started with the town on Oct. 3.

Daniel Boudreau, Hopkinton Public Library Adult Services Librarian

Boudreau previously worked at the Attleboro Library since March 2021 as a Circulation Assistant and later as Assistant Reference Librarian. In these roles, he assisted in organizing materials and assisting patrons. 

As the Adult Services Librarian, Boudreau works to meet the information and library needs of patrons by offering informative programs and events, as well as curating a collection that represents a wide range of interests. He is also responsible for collection development and assessing materials for the library’s adult collections.

Boudreau holds a Master of Library and Information Science and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. He started with the town on Oct. 2.

Jonathan Lewitus, Parks & Recreation Director 

Lewitus previously worked as the Assistant Director of Recreation for the Town of Brookline since September 2019. He was previously in the same role for the Town of Sharon and has additional experience at the Brookline Recreation Department and the MetroWest YMCA. 

In his role, Lewitus is responsible for the daily management, administration and operation of the department. He oversees the coordination and implementation of various athletic, cultural, educational and other community events and activities put on by the department. He also continuously evaluates the town’s park and recreational needs, activities and facilities and will make recommendations for improvements or changes. The director is also responsible for ensuring that Hopkinton’s recreation services are equally accessible and available to all people.

Lewitus holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in sports management and a bachelor’s degree in sociology. 

Lewitus was appointed to the position by the Parks and Recreation Commission. He started with the town on Sept. 30.

Andrea Colibri, Hopkinton Public Library Youth Services Supervisor

Colibri was promoted from the position of Children’s Librarian, which she served in since May 2019. From 2018-2019, Colibri worked as a Library Intern at Raytheon Corporate Libraries in Marlborough. She also has previous experience as a licensed speech-language pathologist. 

As Youth Services Supervisor, Colibri oversees and leads the collection and development of children’s and young adult materials, program planning and community outreach. She also works with parents, teachers, daycare providers, school librarians, other town departments and non-profit organizations that work with youth to collaborate on and expand library services.

Colibri holds a Master of Library and Information Science and a master’s in speech-language pathology, as well as bachelor’s degrees in biology and neuroscience.

The Youth Services Supervisor role was a new role created to further enhance initiatives and programming that address the community’s desire for expanded library services. The position was posted internally and externally and Colibri was ultimately selected by the interview panels. Colibri began in the position on Sept. 6.

Officer Noah Buentello, Hopkinton Police Department

Officer Buentello is a native of Hopkinton. He has previous experience at JS Protective Services and Silbar Security of New England. He has also worked as an intern at the Leominster Police Department and Wayland Fire Department. 

Officer Buentello has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and is working toward a master’s degree in criminal justice. He started with the town on Aug. 2.

Firefighter/Paramedic Brian Beaudette, Hopkinton Fire Department

Firefighter Beaudette came to the Town of Hopkinton from Brewster Ambulance where he served as an EMT since November 2021. He also has previous work experience in the health and fitness industry.

Firefighter Beaudette holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Bridgewater State University. He received his paramedicine certificate from Mass Bay Community College in May. He started with the town on June 20.

Charles “CJ” Paquette, Assistant Treasurer/Collector

Paquette came to the Town of Hopkinton from Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School, where he worked as Accounts Payable Secretary since November 2022. In the role he processed warrants, balanced purchase orders, received payments and reviewed invoices. Paquette previously worked as Assistant Treasurer for the Town of Spencer and held multiple roles at Southbridge Credit Union. 

As Assistant Treasurer, Paquette assists with the financial, administrative and technical work of the Treasurer/Collector’s Office. He also assists with processing payments and reconciling financial accounts.

Paquette attended Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in the Marketing vocational program. He started with the town on June 5. 

Firefighter/Paramedic Cameron Tracia, Hopkinton Fire Department

Firefighter Tracia came to the Town of Hopkinton from the Northborough Fire Department where he served as a firefighter/paramedic since September 2020. He also previously worked as a paramedic at MedStar Ambulance, a paramedic at the Shrewsbury Fire Department and an EMT for Vital EMS in Worcester.

Firefighter Tracia holds Firefighter I/II and HazMat certifications from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. He also holds an associate’s degree in paramedic technology. He started with the town on May 16.

Seth Ledoux, Hopkinton Public Library Senior Library Assistant

Ledoux has previous experience as a Substitute Librarian at Amherst Regional High School and an Access Services Assistant at UMass Lowell’s O’Leary Library. As Senior Library Assistant, Ledoux supports the daily operations of the Hopkinton Public Library and provides customer service to patrons.

Ledoux holds a bachelor’s degree in English/Creative Writing. He started with the town on May 10.
