NORTH HAVEN — Chief Paul Januszewski and the North Haven Fire Department have launched a new public safety initiative.

The North Haven Fire Department implemented the North Haven Community Connect initiative to increase safety for all residents by preventing emergencies and effectively managing them when they occur. 

North Haven Community Connect is a free and user-friendly online platform designed for residents and business owners to share critical information about their households and businesses, that will benefit emergency personnel when responding to an emergency.

Residents can input information about what type of residence they live in and include whether or not the establishment is equipped with a fire sprinkler system. The program has a section for household occupants and emergency contacts, a section for disclosing physical needs, such as wheelchair accessibility and a section for household pets.

“We encourage residents and business owners to use Community Connect,” said Chief Januszewski. “Our top priority is the safety of all community members and we believe this new initiative will help us efficiently prepare for and respond to emergencies.”
