DUNSTABLE — Chief William Farrell is pleased to announce that the Dunstable Fire Department received a new Squad 1 vehicle.
Squad 1, a 2018 Ford F-550/HME, was recently placed into service and replaced the 1999 light duty rescue vehicle.
Squad 1 is equipped with a 1,500 gallon per minute pump and a 400 gallon water tank, as well as a Compressed Air Foam System. In addition to the traditional firefighting equipment, the vehicle carries emergency medical care equipment, hazardous materials mitigation equipment, a gas meter, vehicle extrication tools, technical rescue equipment and firefighter rapid intervention equipment.
The new truck was purchased through Town funding.
“I am extremely grateful that the department received funding from the town to purchase this much needed vehicle,” said Chief Farrell. “This versatile vehicle allows us to respond to and mitigate a wide variety of emergency incidents and is an outstanding addition to our fleet of emergency vehicles.”
