Belmont Police and Fire Departments Respond After Vehicle Crashes into House

Police Chief James MacIsaac and Fire Chief David DeStefano report that the Belmont Police and Fire Departments responded after a vehicle crashed into a house Sunday night.

BELMONT — Police Chief James MacIsaac and Fire Chief David DeStefano report that the Belmont Police and Fire Departments responded after a vehicle crashed into a house Sunday night.

At approximately 11:25 p.m., Belmont Police and Fire responded to the intersection of Belmont Street and White Street after it was reported that a vehicle had hit a house. Upon arrival, officers located a BMW that had crashed into the house at 245 White St.

An initial on-scene investigation determined that a BMW and a Toyota crashed at the intersection. The collision resulted in the BMW subsequently hitting the corner of the home, and the Toyota hitting a utility pole.

Both drivers were able to get out of their vehicles on their own. The driver of the BMW, a 33-year-old Plymouth man, was transported by a Watertown Fire and Rescue ambulance to Mount Auburn Hospital. The driver of the Toyota, a 28-year-old Allston man, was transported by Belmont Fire Department Rescue to Massachusetts General Hospital.

No one inside the home reported injuries. The home sustained some damage and a Building Department official was contacted to assess its structural integrity.

The crash remains under investigation by the Belmont Police Department.
