Maynard Police and Fire Departments Invite Residents to ‘Until Help Arrives’ FEMA Training

MAYNARD — Police Chief Michael Noble and Fire Chief Angela Lawless announce that the Maynard Police and Fire Departments will host a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) “Until Help Arrives” training class for community members.

Training will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 6-8:30 p.m., at the Maynard Fire station, 30 Sudbury St., and is open to all residents and community members.

Until Help Arrives teaches individuals key skills and techniques they can use to bridge the critical minutes between a crisis and the arrival of first responders.

The course will cover five objectives: how to effectively communicate with 911 operators, protecting the injured from further harm, how to position the injured, how to stop life-threatening bleeding, and how to provide emotional support.

Training is free and sign up is required.

Community members who are interested in participating should register for training here
