North Attleboro Fire Department Extinguishes Structure Fire

NORTH ATTLEBORO — Chief Christopher Coleman reports that the North Attleboro Fire Department responded to and extinguished an apartment fire last night.

On Friday, July 7 at approximately 10:56 p.m., North Attleboro Fire Department received reports of a fire alarm being struck indicating sprinkler flow at 12 Moody St.

Upon arrival, crews observed smoke coming from the second floor of an apartment building. Crews found a small fire coming from a second floor apartment that was being contained by the sprinkler system.

Originally crews struck a second alarm to bring in mutual aid from surrounding towns.

However due to the quick efforts by the North Attleboro Fire Department and mutual aid partners from Attleboro, Plainville, Foxboro, Mansfield, Cumberland, Rhode Island, Mansfield MEMA and Providence Canteen, the fire was brought down to a working fire.

There were no reported injuries.

There are 22 apartments in the building. Two people were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the North Attleboro Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit.
