DRACUT — Chief Richard Patterson reports that the Dracut Fire Department responded to and extinguished a two-alarm fire early this morning.
On Thursday, April 27 at 7:28 a.m., Dracut Fire received a report of a fire at a single-family home at 41 Burdette Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy fire coming from the second floor of the home.
Crews immediately began an aggressive attack to extinguish the flames and struck a second alarm to bring mutual aid.
The structural stability of the home was deemed too dangerous to continue an interior attack. Crews were removed from the home’s interior and continued to attack flames from the exterior.
The fire was brought under control at approximately 8:15 a.m.
There were no reported injuries. Two residents are displaced and being assisted by the Red Cross.
The Lowell, Tyngsborough and Pelham, NH, fire departments provided mutual aid at the scene. The Methuen Fire Department and Hudson, NH Fire Department provided station coverage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Dracut Fire Investigation Unit.
