Ludlow Fire Department Extinguishes Early Morning House Fire

LUDLOW – Chief Ryan Pease reports that the Ludlow Fire Department responded and extinguished a house fire early Saturday morning. 

On Saturday, Feb. 18, at approximately 8:12 a.m. Ludlow Central Dispatch received a call from a resident at 53 White St.,reporting there was a fire on their porch that was spreading into the home. 

Ludlow Fire arrived three minutes later and observed heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the single story family home. 

The outside fire was quickly extinguished and firefighters observed additional heavy fire  coming from the attic of the home. 

Crews worked aggressively to extinguish the flames and the fire was brought under control approximately 25 minutes later. 

There are no reported injuries. One resident was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross. 

Mutual aid was provided by Westover Fire, Wilbraham Fire, and American Medical Response (AMR) provided ambulance coverage at the scene. Ludlow Police also aidedat the scene.

Station coverage was provided by Three Rivers Fire Department. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Ludlow Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
