NORTH ATTLEBORO — The North Attleboro Fire Department would like to congratulate Chief Christopher Coleman on graduating from the Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program earlier today.
On Friday, Jan. 27, Chief Coleman was one of 37 students to graduate from the 28th Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program at the Department of Fire Services (DFS) in Stow.
The program, presented in partnership between the DFS and the University of Massachusetts’s Edward J. Collins Jr. Center for Public Management, is designed to provide new chief officers with a variety of leadership and management skills essential in municipal management. The program is a very competitive, highly-demanding capstone course in the overall Fire Officer training track.
The topics covered include: leadership, administrative structure, communication skills, budget and financial skills, supervision and management, community and intergovernmental relations, emergency management, logic, ethics and decision making, comprehensive safety and health programs, fire and life safety and more.
“On behalf of the North Attleboro Fire Department, I would like to congratulate Chief Coleman on this accomplishment,” Deputy Chief Michael Chabot said. “The rigorous training and leadership skills he has obtained while in this program will only further enhance the department’s services and response within our community.”
