BELMONT – Chief David DeStefano is pleased to announce that the Belmont Fire Department has welcomed a new firefighter recruit.

On Monday, Jan. 23,  Nicholas Volante was sworn in as a member of the Belmont Fire Department by Town Clerk Ellen O’Brien-Cushman.

Volante, who already possesses EMT credentials, will begin his in-house training before attending the Boston Fire Academy’s 12-week firefighter certification training program.

“Firefighter Volante will undergo rigorous training that will provide him with the tools to excel in the certification training program and enable him to become a fully integrated member of our team upon completion,” Chief DeStefano said. “The entire Belmont Fire Department would like to officially welcome recruit Volante and wish him a safe, successful and fulfilling career.”
