Chelmsford Police Arrest and Charge Two Men Following Assault and Motor Vehicle Pursuit

CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney reports that the Chelmsford Police Department, with assistance from its law enforcement partners, arrested a Lowell man following a police pursuit and crash on Wednesday. 

VISITACTION ROLON, AGE 56, OF LOWELL, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (knife)
  • Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (firearm)

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, at about 12:30 p.m., Chelmsford Police received a 9-1-1 report about a disturbance at a business on Drum Hill Road. Upon initial investigation, officers learned that one of the parties involved in the disturbance had shown a knife and pointed a handgun toward the other party, then fled in a black pickup truck.

Chelmsford officers stopped a truck matching that description on Drum Hill Road. A passenger exited the vehicle, but the driver, later determined to be ROLON,refused officers’ commands and drove away. A chase ensued through Chelmsford and Lowell, then ended when ROLON crashed the truck in Billerica. ROLON was arrested by the Billerica Police Department.

The passenger, CARMELO ROSADO, AGE 59, OF LOWELL, was found to have outstanding motor vehicle warrants from Lowell District Court and was arrested.

ROLON and ROSADO are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
