LITTLETON — Town Administrator Anthony M. Ansaldi Jr. and Superintendent Kelly Clenchy are pleased to announce that the Town of Littleton and Littleton Public Schools are partnering with VaxinateRx and Health Care Family Pharmacy to offer four community COVID-19 vaccination clinics for children ages 5-11.

Clinics are scheduled for:

  • Monday, Nov. 8
  • Monday, Nov. 29
  • Monday, Dec. 20
  • Monday, Jan. 11, 2022

All clinics will be held in the cafeteria at Littleton Middle School, 55 Russell St., from 4-7 p.m.

Clinics will dispense first and second doses and boosters of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, which has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration for those ages 5 and older. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is a two-dose regimen, with three weeks between first and second doses.

“The Town and School Department want to ensure every resident who wants a vaccination has access to one,” Administrator Ansaldi said. “I urge all who are eligible and have not yet been vaccinated to do so, bringing us closer to achieving community immunity.”

“We are pleased that this partnership will provide our students an easy and convenient way to get the COVID-19 vaccine,” Superintendent Clenchy said. “Vaccinating our students will help us to ensure the safety of all those in the Littleton school community.”

Those wishing to be vaccinated are asked to sign up in advance here. Walk-ins will be accepted, but registration is requested to ensure vaccine supply and proper staffing.

Parents and guardians who wish to have their child vaccinated also must present a signed consent form, found here.

Vaccines are free. Identification is not required. Insurance is not required, though attendees are asked to bring their insurance cards to defray administrative costs.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends booster shots for anyone who has received both doses in the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna regimen, or the single-dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine. Fully vaccinated individuals may receive a booster shot of any vaccine. Regulators have not recommended any one vaccine over another as a booster.

Booster shots will be available based on the following guidelines:

A single booster dose of COVID-19 Vaccine may be administered at least six months after completion of the primary series of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine to individuals:

  • 65 years of age and older
  • 18 through 64 years of age at high risk of severe COVID-19
  • 18 through 64 years of age with frequent institutional or occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2

A single booster dose of COVID-19 Vaccine may be administered at least two months after completion of the single-dose primary Janssen vaccine regimen to individuals 18 years of age and older.

Individuals can check if they are eligible for a booster by using the eligibility tool at mass.gov/BoosterCheck.

Those attending the Littleton clinics are asked to stay for 15 minutes after being vaccinated (30 minutes for anyone who has had a prior anaphylactic reaction to any medication).

Attendees at all clinics will be required to wear masks and maintain physical distance, in accordance with current Massachusetts guidelines regarding clinics.

“Thank you to VaxinateRx and Healthcare Family Pharmacy for working with the Town and School Department to offer these local clinics,” Select Board Chair Chuck DeCoste said. “We are fortunate that these strong partnerships will make vaccinations even more convenient to the community.”
