EAST KINGSTON — The East Kingston Fire Department is in need of community members eager to serve as firefighters and paramedics, and in other roles that ultimately help keep residents safe.
As a small community, East Kingston relies on well-trained residents from throughout the area to provide professional emergency response. Department members work assigned per diem shifts, or serve on-call and respond when the need arises.
The Department will pay for all training, which is equivalent to that received by any firefighter, with those who complete the program earning national certification. Department members may train in either fire service or emergency medical services, or train in both.
Department members’ pay is commensurate with experience and certifications acquired.
Members also may serve in supporting roles, including communications, driving equipment, and assisting with the Department’s fire prevention and educational programs.
East Kingston Fire also has produced a video to showcase the experience of serving in the Department.
In the video, Chief Warren, Capt. Scott Urwick, and Firefighters Nick Africano, Laurie McCarter, and Jonathan Stabile discuss why they joined the Department, what they do, and the satisfaction they feel in giving back to their community.
“Serving the Department is a great way to serve your community., and when you help someone in need, you’ll get a feeling you will never forget,” Chief Warren said. “I encourage anyone who is interested in learning more and giving back to reach out.”
Membership in the East Kingston Fire Department is open to both residents and non-residents. Those interested in becoming a member of the East Kingston Fire Department may contact Chief Warren at 603-642-3141 or ewarren@eastkingstonnh.gov.
The Town of East Kingston is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
