BENNINGTON, VERMONT– The Vermont Association of Chiefs of Police is pleased to announce that the seventh annual golf tournament raised more than $1,500 last month.
This year’s tournament was held virtually throughout the month of August as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and teams of two to four golfers were able to play a round of golf at the course of their choice.
Funds raised through the tournament will go toward the association’s scholarship awards and advancing the VACOP’s public safety mission.
This year’s winning team was Shawn Goodell and his team from Morrisville, who were -14 under par. They played their round at Copley Country Club in Morrisville.
Winners received green fees for four players to a golf course in Vermont. First place winners had first choice of the available green fees and each subsequent winner will be given the next choice until all donated greens are taken.
“The Association is grateful to all of the sponsors and players that took the time to participate in this worthwhile event to support our scholarship fund and forward the Association’s goals, especially during these very challenging times,” said Woodstock Police Chief Robbie Blish, who serves as a VACOP Executive Board member.
