ASHLAND — Town Manager Michael Herbert and Police Chief Craig Davis are pleased to welcome Officers Katrina Anderson and Lawrence Rodkey to the Ashland Police Department following their graduation from the academy this week.

Officers Anderson and Rodkey graduated from the 26-week MBTA Police Academy in Quincy on Sept. 5.

“The academy challenged Officers Anderson and Rodkey academically, physically and mentally,” Chief Davis said. “Both are exceptional officers and we congratulate them and welcome them to their new careers protecting and serving the community of Ashland.”

Officer Anderson graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal communications and criminal justice. She also interned with the Boston Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Officer Rodkey graduated from Westfield State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Prior to entering the academy, he worked for a year as a dispatcher with the Ashland Police Department.

The new officers will begin 12-weeks of in-service training on Monday, Sept. 10.
