Chelmsford Police Arrest Two for Armed Robbery

CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney reports that the Chelmsford Police Department arrested two suspects for armed robbery this evening.

JAMIE COHOON, AGE 41, who is currently homeless but most recently resided in LOWELL, and ROGER SURETTE, AGE 40, OF DRACUT, are both charged with Armed Robbery.

On Friday, Aug. 25, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Chelmsford Police responded to TD Bank, 41 Drum Hill Road, on a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman, later identified as COHOON, had entered the bank and passed a note to the teller, threatening she had a gun and demanding money. She then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a vehicle, driven by a male suspect, later identified as SURETTE.

No injuries were reported and no weapon was shown.

Police obtained a description of the suspect vehicle after an initial investigation, and learned the suspects were traveling toward the Drum Hill rotary. Shortly after, police stopped a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description near exit 35 on Route 3 northbound at approximately 6:40 p.m.

COHOON and SURETTE were both subsequently arrested and taken into custody without incident. They are both being held at the Chelmsford Police Station.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
