Bridgewater Police Arrest 41 People After Out of Control House Party

Tenants Charged with Keeping Disorderly House, Furnishing Alcohol to Minors

BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher Delmonte reports that the Bridgewater Police Department arrested a total of 41 people early Sunday morning after officers responded to a loud, out of control house party and witnessed people drinking and breaking numerous items inside a residence.

On Sunday at 1 a.m., Bridgewater Police received a 911 call reporting a disturbance at 141 Maple Ave. Arriving Bridgewater Police Officers observed several college-aged individuals outside of the home in the front and rear of the house.

Responding Officers could also hear yelling and glass breaking from inside of the home.

Officers were initially unable to gain access into the residence but were able to observe a large number of people inside of the home yelling and breaking objects.

After eventually gaining access into the home Bridgewater Officers observed a large amount of alcohol throughout the residence. They were also able to identify many of the party goers to be under 21 years of age. While in the home, officers observed several municipal street and roadway signs on display.

While officers were at the scene several of the occupants began to flee through several
windows on the first floor.

Bridgewater Police requested assistance from Bridgewater State University Police. The Bridgewater Inspectional Services and the Bridgewater Fire Department were also requested to the home to inspect several safety hazards located within the home.

As a result of the police response and investigation, 41 occupants of the home were placed under arrest. Charges vary among the suspects, including:

• Being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol
• Disturbing the Peace
• Disorderly Conduct

After some time, police were able to determine, among the 41 people arrested, which were the actual residents/tenants of the home. As a result, JUAN PEREZ, AGE 21, OF EVERETT, and ANDREW JUCKET, AGE 21, OF BRIDGEWATER were charged with:

• Keeping a Disorderly House
• Disturbing the Peace
• Furnishing Alcohol to Person Under 21
• Obstruction of Justice

All of those arrested will be arraigned this week in Brockton District Court

Bridgewater Police are working with officials from Bridgewater State University as well. Chief Delmonte emphasizes his disappointment with the conduct of all involved in this incident.

“This is not the typical result of a police response to a loud party. The number of people arrested and the charges levied against each of them should underscore the burden a few can place on neighborhoods and the amount of municipal resources required to restore order.  We have developed a comprehensive plan for dealing with these types of situations, which requires tenants and landlords to be held accountable,” Chief Delmonte said. “Our residents should not have to put up with this. It is a quality-of-life issue.”

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
