Stoneham Police Searching for Bank Robbery Suspect
STONEHAM — Police Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is actively searching for a man involved in robbing a bank this morning and is asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect.
At approximately 10:20 a.m., police responded to Bank of America, 323 Main St., on a report of a robbery.
Video surveillance shows the suspect give a female bank teller a handwritten note demanding money. The man then fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 40’s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build, gray facial hair, thin wire rimmed glasses, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and no gloves or mask.
“We are actively investigating this incident, along with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force,” Chief McIntyre said. “If anyone was in the area at the time of the robbery, or recognizes this suspect, we ask that they immediately contact police.”
Anyone with information should call Detective Chris Dalis from the Stoneham Police Department at 781-438-1215 ext. 3133 or FBI Task Force Officer John Oliveira at 617-742-5533. All callers may remain anonymous and a cash reward will given to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest.
