Rowley Police Arrest Man on Child Pornography Charges
ROWLEY – Interim Chief James Mulligan reports that the Rowley Police Department arrested a man yesterday on child pornography charges.
On Jan. 11, the Rowley Police Department received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that a Rowley man was soliciting nude photographs from teenage girls over the Internet.
As a result of a 10-day investigation led by Detective Matthew Ziev, Rowley Police executed a search warrant on Thursday, Jan. 21 with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police and Computer Forensic Analysts from the State Police Crime Lab.
DYLAN BURKE, AGE 26, OF ROWLEY, was arrested and charged with one count of possession of child pornography.
BURKE was held on $5,000 bail pending his arraignment at the Newburyport District Court this morning.
“We are committed to the safety and well-being of our children and have absolutely zero tolerance for this type of crime,” Interim Chief Mulligan said. “Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Rowley police officers involved in this case and our law enforcement partners, this man will be held accountable for his actions and will no longer be able to exploit children.”
Rowley Police do not believe that any local children were involved. The case remains under investigation.
Anyone with additional information regarding this incident or any other instances involving the online solicitation or sexual exploitation of children, should immediately contact the Rowley Police Department at 978-948-7644.
