BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department arrested a man last week for fraudulent use of a credit card at the local Target store.

At approximately 12:07 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, Bedford Police responded to the Target on S. River Road for a report of a suspect who was allegedly involved in a prior credit card fraud case at the same store, which Bedford Police were investigating.

Bedford Police located the suspect, who is identified as NICKERSON LAURISTON, AGE 31, OF ATLANTA.

Upon further investigation, police discovered that LAURISTON was in fact the suspect in the past credit card fraud case which is believed to be part of a credit card scam in the area.

LAURISTON was arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of Misdemeanor A – Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
  • Two counts of Felony B – Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card

He was processed at the Bedford Police station and is being held at the Valley Street Jail on $33,000 bail pending a probable cause hearing at The Merrimack District Court.

“I am proud of the strong investigative work by the Bedford Police in this case,” Chief Bryfonski said. “It is disappointing that we have individuals in our community who choose to exploit innocent victims. However, we can rest assured this person will be held accountable for their actions thanks to the hard work of police and swift action of Target employees.”

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
