BOXBOROUGH — Chief Warren Ryder is pleased to announce that Patrolman Kevin Gordon was appointed to a full-time police officer at the Boxborough Police Department last week.

The Board of Selectmen swore in Officer Gordon during a ceremony on Monday, Dec. 21.

Officer Gordon grew up in Boxborough and has been serving as a reserve officer with the Boxborough Police Department since September of this year, and prior to that worked as a full-time officer with the Manchester by the Sea Police Department for four years. While a reserve officer, he completed the required eight-week Field Training program.

“I am proud to have Officer Gordon as a full-time member of our department,” Chief Ryder said. “He’s been a tremendous asset to the department since he came on board earlier this year and I am excited to watch him grow in his new role.”

In 2013, Officer Gordon graduated from the Reading Police Academy and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He is a certified EMT and will maintain the department’s medical equipment in addition to being assigned to the Patrol Division.
