Bedford Police Host Community Fraud Talk, Invite Residents to Attend, Ask Questions
BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John Bryfonski and the Bedford Police Department would like to invite residents to attend a free community fraud talk to learn how not to become a victim of scams.
“We encourage all our residents to attend this informative presentation to learn how to handle a number of popular scams out there today,” Chief Bryfonski said. “This information will be especially useful for our older residents, who are often targeted and become victims of these crimes.”
WHAT
Officer Robert Lavoie will host the event to provide information to residents about how to avoid a number of scams. This will include the popular phone and internet scams, like those involving the IRS, utility companies, lottery and more.
There will also be a question and answer period, where attendees can gain further insight on the scams mentioned, or talk about a type of fraud that may not have been mentioned during the presentation.
The goal is to have no resident lose money or valuables to scammers.
WHEN
Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 12:30 p.m. The event will run as long as needed.
WHERE
Briston Manor West, 37 Ridgewood Road.
