Arlington Police Department Launches New Web-based Police Reporting Option for the Public

Coplogic Software Will Allow Residents to Report Minor Incidents Online

ARLINGTON — Police Chief Frederick Ryan is pleased to announce that the Arlington Police Department will be providing a new desk officer online reporting system for the public, from California-based software company, Coplogic, Inc.

“This online reporting system will allow Arlington Police Officers more time to address community needs while keeping pace with the public’s expectancy to complete services online,” Chief Ryan said. “I encourage residents to use the online system for minor incidents, and if you have any problems or questions regarding this service, please contact the police department.”

Coplogic will allow residents to file reports for the following types of incidents:

• Theft from Vehicle
• Vandalism to Property
• Stolen Bicycle
• Lost Property
• Harassing Phone Calls, Emails, or Text Messages
• Identity Theft
• Lost or Stolen Credit/Debit Card
• Vandalism to Car
• Lost or Stolen Electronics
• Stolen Property (if your house was broken into, you cannot report the theft online. Call the Arlington Police at 781-643-1212 to speak with an officer)
• Hit and Run (when your vehicle is struck and the other operator flees without leaving identifying information. Damage to your vehicle must be under approximately $1,000 to use the online report)

Note: Filing a false report is a crime.

Upon submitting a report, residents will receive a case number and be able to print a temporary copy of their report which will be reviewed by the police department. Once approved, the resident will receive a copy of the approved report free of charge.

Approved reports will automatically be transferred into the Arlington Police Department’s records management system and will receive the same investigation and statistical analysis ability as if the report had been filed by a police officer. If further investigation into a case is required, residents may be contacted by police.
