Chelmsford Police Department Thanks Community for Letters for Military Hospital Patients

CHELMSFORD — Police Chief James M. Spinney and the Chelmsford Police Department, along with the Bedford VA, would like to thank the community for taking the time to participate in their Veterans Letter Campaign.

Police collected 1,519 letters in a week from residents, which will be brought to patients at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Veterans will be to traveling D.C. to visit the largest and most renowned military medical center in the nation to bring the supportive messages from Massachusetts to those recovering.

“These letters, cards and notes will certainly be appreciated by those receiving medical care,” Chief Spinney said. “Thank you to everyone who participated in this campaign.”
