STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and arresting a man responsible for breaking into a restaurant early Sunday morning.

Detective Christopher Dalis was called to a restaurant on Franklin Street for a reported breaking and entering. After speaking with the restaurant owner and reviewing surveillance footage, it was determined that a lone male suspect entered the restaurant shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. He made off with a quantity of cash, but his face was clearly visible on the surveillance footage, and police are hoping someone will recognize him and do the right thing.

The suspect was wearing sneakers, cargo shorts, a baseball cap, and a hooded sweatshirt. Detective Dalis also determined that a small, lightly-colored, four-door sedan entered an adjacent parking lot shortly before the break-in.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any additional information about the break-in is urged to contact Stoneham Police at 781-438-1215.
